Position Summary

 

The Process Engineer will work under the supervision of the Director of Process Design to develop documents for all stages of the bidding process. The process engineer must evaluate the information supplied by the sales team and design the process to meet the needs of the client, and deliver the process design summaries to the application engineer.

Essential Functions

  • Designs wastewater treatment solutions using the information supplied by the sales team and documenting the proposed process into a summary.
  • Prepares Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), General Arrangements (GA), and preliminary Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for incorporating in proposals and bids.
  • Interaction with customers, solving treatment challenges through thorough analysis of their particular requirements.
  • Interaction with team members to continually improve existing technologies and create innovative new techniques for improving water treatment and reuse.
  • Assists with processes, tools, and systems for project estimating that are accurate and efficient.
  • Provides process engineering input for new and existing projects.
  • Contributes and improves process engineering tools such as MediaPro and Visio models.
  • Keeps abreast of wastewater treatment design techniques, competing technologies, and various software tools such as GPS-X and BioWin.
  • Fosters and maintains excellent working relationships with customers and staff.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately externally with the client and internally with project resources and stakeholders, as required.
  • Ensures that company procedures and design methodology is consistently applied including all required project documents filed as required.

Gain a basic understanding of the company's systems and procedures, including, but not limited to in-house developed modeling programs, treatment approaches and design principles. Begin assisting senior process engineers with process design.
  • Next 30 Days: Prepare process designs and documentation for simple projects with supervision from senior process engineers.
  • Within first 6 months: Become proficient at process design and documentation with minimal supervision. Begin contributing to improved methods and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint.
  • Composed and disciplined approach to multiple simultaneous demands.
  • 5 years minimum experience in biological wastewater treatment design and engineering.
  • Knowledge of advanced biological treatment processes like MBR, MBBR, high rate clarification processes.
  • Knowledge of advanced wastewater treatment and water treatment systems for process based industries like pulp & paper, food processing, etc. is a plus.

Position Summary

 

Working under the direct supervision of the design engineer, the draftsperson utilizes their knowledge of mechanical systems and develops, using Solid Works and AutoCAD LT tools, detailed drawings and assemblies for the fabrication of the Company’s products.   In addition, prepares detail and assembly drawings and documentation that are used for quotation submission.

Essential Functions

  • With supervision of the Sr. Design Engineer, prepares and direct preparation of detail drawings and mechanical specifications for all products.
  • Under the supervision of the Sr. Design Engineer prepares drawings and documentation to assist in quotation submission and sales presentations
  • Assist in product document and maintenance of bills of materials for products.
  • Prepares detail documentation for engineering change orders.

Position Summary 

Headworks is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, maintain, and adjust our equipment in the field.

Essential Functions

  • Assemble, calibrate, test and troubleshoot mechanical components and circuits, harnesses, and instruments.
  • Working independently, and while interacting with customers, install, start-up, performance test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer locations.
  • Inspect and test equipment prior to shipping to customer.

Qualifications

  • This top management position will manage and follow up on a continuing process of outgoing projects which include: streamlining of product lines; product improvements taking into consideration both customer needs and manufacturing requirements; development of new products; maximizing the gross margin of product lines through value engineering; and liaison between project management, sales, manufacturing, marketing, finance and customers on products and technology.

  • Three (3) month deliverable will be written reports on success of the implementation of new processes and measured reductions in error rate as well as a report on current quality assurance program and suggestions for improvements for part and equipment testing. Continued improvements will be expected as measured each following quarter.
  • Six (6) month deliverable will be Plan developed in collaboration with members of other departments, including Technical Services, Customer Service, Project Management and Marketing, detailing suggested incremental improvements to core products, implementation resources required and timeline to successful adaptation.
  • Twelve (12) month deliverable will be written report assessing success of plan, implementation of previously suggested improvements/changes, and recommendations for the departments next twelve to twenty-four months.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with P.E. certification within the USA a plus
  • At least 10 years experience in water and wastewater engineering field or related/relevant industry
  • Must have experience with mechanical design of rotational equipment in a solid modeling CAD environment including 3D concepts (SolidWorks or Pro E), sufficient to understand challenges of and give guidance to department team, suggest potential automation improvements, check engineering drawings, and generally keep department at the forefront technologically
  • Must be familiar with machine shop practices and have experience developing testing programs for new products and reducing costs through design, sourcing and manufacturing
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability in a supervisory role, including proficiency in managing relationships within, and requirements of, fast paced engineering department

Job Title:  Senior Supply Chain Manager

Position Summary 

Experienced energetic and driven Senior Supply Chain Manager who can build and lead all procurement functions in fast growth, dynamic environment.   Extremely hands-on position in small business atmosphere with knowledge and experience in implementing procedures in advance of growth, mentoring team members, and building best in class performance.   This position will report directly to the COO and will be a key member of the senior management team of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to develop ever increasing improvements to the Company’s product lines while lowering costs to the customer and improving profitability.  
  • Continues to develop members of the Procurement and SCM team through mentoring, offering ever increasing responsibilities, career advice, and addition of new team members as needed.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and interfaces with outsourced manufacturing facilities and equipment vendors throughout the world with input from Engineering.
  • Works with outsourced manufacturing facilities throughout the world to adopt best process practices, including detailed understanding of descriptions of the product and service offerings, capabilities and strengths/weakness of current suppliers 
  • Conducts research on key supply markets using a full spectrum of information sources (e.g. market indices, on-line databases, print sources, internet, trade associations and supplier information), continually looking for new information sources which will provide information on industry structure, supplier landscape and competitor actions for a range of key supply markets
  • Conducts reviews with key suppliers regarding performance versus pre-agreed standards.
  • Responsible for regularly updating charts showing the historical commodities trend and making this information accessible to the team
  • Supports Business Development Management in the compilation of monthly procurement performance status reports
  • Works with Sales to update and maintain quotation calculations and procedures to insure accurate cost estimates. 
  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations
  • Ensures that  commodities and components are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the Company
  • Conducts analyses on spend data, researching trends in relevant supply markets and continuous benchmarking of different components and of different productive solutions.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis reports. 
  • Arranges for routine disposal of surplus materials and maintains control over excess and obsolete materials. 
  • Upholds internal and external policies, regulations and laws – Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies (e.g., code of ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behavior exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical and professional.

  • Six (6) month deliverable will include a Plan developed in collaboration with members of other departments, including Technical Services, Customer Service, Project Management and Marketing, detailing suggested incremental improvements to core products, implementation resources required and timeline to successful adaptation.  Additionally, written reports on the success of the implementation of new processes and measured reductions in error rate as well as a report on current quality assurance program and suggestions for improvements for part and equipment testing. Continued improvements will be expected as measured each following quarter.
  • Twelve (12) month deliverable will be written report assessing success of plan, implementation of previously suggested improvements/changes/technologies, and recommendations for the departments next twelve to twenty-four months.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in appropriate discipline required.  MBA a plus.
  • CSCP Certification a plus
  • 10 or more years experience in supply chain management with a minimum of 3 years experience in a management role for international supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and proven track record of implementation of processes leading to excellence and improving cost metrics through use of best practice techniques such as cycle counting, MRP planning, JIT, Kaizan, etc.
  • Proven success in implementing new policies and processes, working with internal management and external teams to analyze and suggest improvements to systems.
  • Understands both metric and imperial measurement systems and documentation and design standards. 
  • Ability to interact with vendors and third party shop floor manufacturing personnel to oversee and improve subcontracted manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to look at manufacturing processes and determine where savings can be generated.
  • Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.  ISO 9000 background is a “plus.” 
  • Experience making recommendations/decisions using fact based analysis. Able to analyze and use data appropriately. 
  • Ability to manage, prioritize numerous requests.  High level of multi-tasking required.
