MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello Readers! The weather here in Houston is gorgeous – trees are blooming, crystalline blue skies, the scent of new life in the wind and the music of our coastal birds has returned.
The Rodeo Riders are in town this weekend for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the World Championship Bar-B-Que Cook Off is happening even as this goes to press. Headworks families will head out to taste the champion brisket at Brisket Cases' tent, one of the oldest barbecue cookin’ teams, competing with around 400 top cookers. Headworks sponsors the Brisket Cases each year along with many other local companies, lending a hand to raise scholarships for kids. Last year, the Brisket Cases raised over $28,000. Thanks to all of the volunteer teams like our very own Lee Ann and her parents, Nelson and Laura Hellums, who dedicate their time to various rodeo committees year round, 2,022 students were afforded the opportunity for a better education last year. Check out our website later in the month for photos of the gang chawin’ on bar-b-que and dancin’ off the calories! Wish you were here!
We’re very proud to announce that for the third year in a row, Headworks has been honored by Diversitybusiness.com as one of the most diverse businesses in the United States! Yee haw! If you would like to see where Headworks ranks in the various National and State categories in its diversity as well as read a bit more on our management philosophy of maintaining and encouraging diversity, click here.
Lastly, I want to call your attention to the Sellers Street Screening Case Study, it will be of particular interest to those operators exploring solutions to their storm water facilities.
In the meantime, happy World Water Day on March 22nd! Be back at ya in April!
