MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
This Spring Headworks® is on a roll! We’ve expanded our screening product line with a number of proven products. Our first to premier are our TurboDrum™ and TurboStat™ lines. All of these screens incorporate the same heavy duty, longwearing, proven technology synonymous with the Headworks trademark. Stay tuned for even more exciting news next month about our biological treatment systems!
April 22 is Earth Day and so we highlight a case study on our Mahr® Bar Screen in an unusually polluted environment. The Port of Seattle manages the Seattle – Tacoma International Airport. This airport complex is host to an astounding 22 miles of underground collection piping, which conveys storm water from 375 acres of paved airport surface. Jet fuel in particular is very harmful and corrosive if allowed to leech into the environment. Check out how Headworks helped to resolve the unique challenges in this very vertical wet well application.
And here’s our Industry Call to Action in recognition of Earth Day this month. In response to requests from consulting engineering firms, municipality leadership and contractors, Headworks is making a big step toward a smaller carbon footprint and we welcome your participation in this initiative towards a greener planet. Paper copies of the Headworks Technical Manuals and Submittal Documents previously printed in our office consumed energy, paper, toner, gas for transportation and space in offices for storage. All of that has been eliminated with Headworks’ new Go Green policy to provide electronic files and CDs containing all of the required data. Streamlining this operation allows for our customers to have electronically searchable operation and maintenance manuals, increasing ease of use and operators’ productivity on the job. For operations where computers are unavailable, hard copies will continue to be provided. To understand the impact of paper on our world and why we have made this decision, please read our article on the subject.
Lastly, this month Carrie Cash, our Marketing Director, is rolling toward a cure for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a chronic, often disabling disease that strikes young adults attacking the central nervous system. The MS150 is a 2-day bike ride from Houston to Austin, Texas, and is the single largest fund raiser each year for this cause. Now on her sixth ride, she will be riding on behalf of her friend Carole, who was tragically lost to the disease last year. You can sponsor Carrie by clicking on her link to make a donation or get more information about MS and the MS 150. Carrie Cash's MS150 page.
