Headworks Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Hydroxyl Systems, Inc., a leading provider of moving bed bioreactor (“MBBR”) and Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge (“IFAS”) technologies in the wastewater industry. In the future, Headworks will supply biological process solutions through its sister company, Headworks Bio Inc.
With this acquisition and the consolidation of the Headworks biological system technology into Headworks Bio, the company is now a leading solutions provider in the fast growing MBBR market. The research and development culture of Headworks with its worldwide municipal market expertise combined with the Hydroxyl team’s vast know-how in the field of biological water treatment in industrial and marine applications creates a uniquely qualified company to tackle some of the world’s toughest water challenges.
We look forward to bringing you more information in future issues about Headworks Bio and the successful projects the team has designed! The first of these is a case study in this issue on the facility at Moorhead MN, installed in March of 2003 using MBBR technology. Read what the Utilities Engineer, Andy Bradshaw has to say!
Hydroxyl has numerous installations treating wastewater in the most difficult of industrial applications such as food plants, paper mills, and mining applications. The company led the industry in designing and installing wastewater treatment systems on ferries as well as on some of the largest cruise ships in the world using advanced MBBR. It lists as its clients some of the most prestigious cruise lines and ship builders in the world, including STX Europe, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and BC Ferries.
Until next month, stay positive!
